Manufacturing Partners Program

The Hub Manufacturing Partners program seeks to leverage existing Paso del Norte regional opportunities, competencies, capabilities and interest in the manufacturing of new technology products.  Anecdotal and empirical evidence both suggest a huge opportunity for our region to become the destination of choice for small and medium sized manufacturers of all types.  Thus, this program will connect the various parts of the manufacturing infrastructure (including the maquilas on the Mexican side of our region) with Hub client companies looking to begin, expand, or re-locate manufacturing.

The specific objectives are to identify existing businesses and institutions willing and able to:

  1. Produce varying quantities of manufactured products from test batches to fully scaled production
  2. Work with small, emerging companies
  3. Consider partnerships or joint ventures for the manufacturing of products
  4. Participate in joint marketing and promotion of manufacturing products and services

Definition:  Manufacturing has a very broad definition.  In this case, it involves the production of any and all products affiliated with Hub clients.

Depending upon the type of collaboration, a written agreement may need to be entered, typically between the Hub client and the Manufacturing Partner.  At all times the Hub will seek to facilitate introductions and the exchange of information so it is as fast and efficient as possible, while meeting good business practices.

Roles

The Hub will take the lead in informing partners of the manufacturing opportunities and will facilitate the connections between Hub clients and partners.

The program will compile and maintain a list of partners and their manufacturing capabilities. A list of Hub client products ready for production will also be compiled and updated on a regular basis.  Should there be sufficient interest; regular meetings may be organized with input from the partners.  This may include a comprehensive program of events such as educational seminars, funding forums, technology showcases, etc.
